Great American Railway Journeys
''Great American Railway Journeys'' is an upcoming BBC travel documentary series presented by Michael Portillo. It is due to be shown on BBC Two in summer 2016. In the series, Portillo retraces 19th-century railroad journeys across the United States, from New York and Boston on the east coast, down to Atlanta and New Orleans in the Deep South, and then on to Chicago, Colorado, New Mexico, and finally San Francisco on the west coast.
Music for the series is being composed by Jon Wygens, who also composed the music for ''Great British Railway Journeys'' and ''Great Continental Railway Journeys''.

A book to accompany the series, written by Michael Portillo and published by Simon & Schuster UK, will be released in February 2017.〔
